Lately, I have been finding great finishing touches for my home and projects on Etsy. I feel like it has been such a treasure box for me! It is becoming my go-to source for the little details that help incorporate my personal style. A few years ago, I was touring a home that had a cute hand drawn tribute to the homeowner’s pet and knew I wanted to do something similar for my two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
Ruby and Gracie are really the heads of this household so it only makes sense to have them adorn the walls with custom portraits! After browsing through options for artists online, I ended up choosing Riverry Studio. I placed my order directly through Etsy; however, the option is also available to place directly through their website. The process is simple: choose what size portrait you would like and any framing you want provided. Then, Riverry will contact you with a portal to upload photos of your pets into. I did the entire process from my phone!
For both Ruby and Gracie, I requested the 5×7 portrait. I knew I wanted to purchase a more colorful frame elsewhere. You will have the option to have your pet’s name included in the drawing, but I decided to keep it clean and simple. After a few days, Riverry Studio sends a proof for you to approve or request any changes. For Ruby’s portrait, I did have a few changes made to the initial proof. Riverry was incredibly easy to work with and made the changes right away!
It took about 1.5 weeks until I received the finished product in the mail. I found these two frames at Homegoods for about $6 each! I had a blank wall near my entryway that is now home to my new artwork! This was all pre-planned in my head, so I did request that Ruby’s portrait be oriented vertically. Riverry did a great job with all of my requests!
I would highly recommend this as a gift idea. It is so personal and your giftee will never forget such a thoughtful gesture!
I hope this leaves you with a creative (and aesthetically pleasing) way to incorporate your beloved pets into your home decor. Little touches like this one are what really make your house feel like a cozy home!
